MATTEO DE CAMINADA (he) born 2001 in Italy, is an interdisciplinary artist, performer, curator and activist. His practice connects sculpture, installation and performance.
His work takes a clear artistic and political position, challenging entrenched social conventions and normative structures, and pushing toward more progressive and equitable futures. Deeply embedded in communities across Europe, De Caminada holds a distinctive place as both insider and cultural translator, moving between lived experience and public platform.
As an activist and speaker, he moves between subcultural communities and public platforms, translating lived experience into artistic and political discourse.
De Caminada is currently enrolled in the Department of Transdisciplinary Arts (TransArts) at the University of Applied Arts Vienna (Die Angewandte). Previously trained in Architecture and Fine Arts, his practice has been shaped by a life lived across different European contexts, from Bolzano to London, Leipzig, and Vienna, where he currently lives and works.
